An approved plan is necessary for every new construction. If the plan is as per Vastushastra, it is approved immediately and at many places it is found that the construction work progresses rapidly.
Construction work should not be done in a hurry. We are going to spend a large amount of money, the savings of our lifetime, and we are going to spend our life in that house, therefore, if a mistake is committed due to our haste it is not proper. For the auspicious constellation and time, even if we have to wait for some time, I will ultimately prove beneficial. Once the work starts, there should be no break in it. We should not unnecessarily ask the workers to hurry up. As far as possible, the construction work should be stopped, after sunset. There should be no construction work at night.
The mason should look up towards the south and then stop work. This is beneficial for the owner of the house. It is beneficial to build an out house for keeping the building material in the south-west corner. Out house can also be built in the south-east corner leaving a margin of at least two to three feet from the east and the south direction. The watchman should preferably live in the south-east out house. If he is in the north-west out house, there is always a danger of theft. If the watchman is kept in the south-west out house, they try to override the owner.
While building the house, the advice of a qualified engineer is always useful. He can tell us exact requirement of steel to be used. We should not change it.
